Google Adsense! What is it? How do I start with it? Do i need to own a site?

We know that the entire world is in running after Google. What’s the major source of income of Google? It is adsense. It is a program where advertisers advertise their websites and publishers promote them. If you are looking forward to make some money using adsense, you need to sign up as a publisher
Prerequisites:
You need to own a website first. If you are a business firm, it is recommended to purchase a domain name and a hosting service. The usual price of a domain is 10$/year and the price of hosting varies from 3$ to 10$/month. If it is for personal use, you may opt for a free lan. Some of the companies that offer free domaining and hosting include blogspot, yolasite, weebly, multiply etc. The only disadvantage is you won’t get a top level domain if you sign up in any of these free sites. Once the site is ready, you need to fill it with content that is unique and informative. Adsense doesn’t approve pornographic or copied content. Once the content is ready, you can apply for the post of a publisher using your website. In some Asian countries,  a site will not be approved if it is less than 6 months old regardless of the content and number of pages
Filling up the application:
You need to visit the adsense website and fill up the application. See that the personal details you supply match with those associated with your domain. Adsense makes payment using cheques. .  Enter the payee name carefully as there is no option to change the payee name later in certain countries.
Placing ads on your website:
Adsense team evaluates your website and if it adheres to the terms and policies, you will receive a mail stating that your account has been approved. You can login to your account, select the size of the adsense module according to your convenience and paste it in your code. You will be able to see google ads within minutes.
Now, you are an adsense publisher and the amount of money you get depends on the number of visitors you get.
